“For they got not the land [of Canaan] in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your countenance [did it], because You were favorable toward and did delight in them.”-Psalm 44:3(Amplified)
You are entering into your season of possession. However, this is not by your own efforts, but it is because of the favor and power of God. If everything were because of you then you probably would have avoided a lot of the hardships and made it happen much sooner than now, but God is going to get the glory out of everything that is happening to you now. Doors are opening now not because you made them open, but because God has decreed that it’s now time for them to open for you. Dreams are being fulfilled not because you have worked hard to get them off of the ground, but because your faith in the God of the possible has aligned everything towards that place called FULFILLMENT.
Realizing the will of God working towards you in this season is the key to actually receiving what God is bringing into your life at this time. The desert season has ended and now it is time to inhabit Canaan. The thoughts of unworthiness must be shed in Canaan because God delights in you and finds you worthy of His favor. Anyone that opposes you opposes God because you are dear to His heart and He is indeed jealous over you.
In this season you must begin to delight in God just like he delights in you and while you can never out love God there is no harm in trying. As you love Him radically you will see your faith take on new expression. Many of the hard places that made you question God in the past because you felt stuck will now become places of expectation where you confidently look forward to God’s breakthrough power to be demonstrated. It’s a new season so get ready for what God is going to do for you.
“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked them.
“Seven,” they said, “and a few small fish.”-Matthew 15:34(HCSB)
What do you have in your possession? What are your gifts? What are your abilities? What is your unique skill? On this day I would like to encourage you by letting you know that whatever you are willing to place in the hand of the Lord, he will use it to be a blessing to others in ways that will offer hope, encouragement and refreshment.
So many struggle with thoughts of inferiority and insignificance and think that they have nothing to offer, but the one who completely surrenders to God will find that they have everything to offer simply because Christ is in them. As we begin to live with the understanding that we live in partnership with God we will begin to seek opportunities to serve God by using what he placed within us to serve and to bless. In Matthew 15 we see that there is a great need that arises during a time of ministry with his disciples and the disciples are unable to see that God wants to show off by meeting great needs with the little that they have in their hands. I wish that they were still so amped up on faith that they shouted, “Hey Jesus! Let take lunch for 12 and feed over 4,000.” However, the size of the need eclipsed their faith and caused them to have a “duh” moment. Thank God Jesus was always ready for action.
Today, come to the realization that in Christ you have something to offer the world. In Colossians 1:27 Paul teaches, “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Begin to declare, “As joint-heir with Christ I am able to access heaven’s riches and provide solutions to the problems around me. The greater the need, the greater the opportunity for God’s glory to be put on display. Healing will begin to break out everywhere that I go. The spirit of poverty will loose its stronghold over my city and deliverance will come to many. I am on a mission for Christ and I’m empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish the mission.”
“The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:9 ESV)
Our greatest days are upon us. I know many of us have acknowledged a desire for the days of the first century church, Azusa Street Revival, Smith Wigglesworth and other landmark moments in the history of the kingdom, but you need to realize the glory to which you have been called. You weren’t born at the wrong time, but God caused you to exist at just the right time and now you must maximize every opportunity to make his glory known to the world. Today, it is your God-given responsibility to fulfill your role as a carrier of the greater glory.
Stop saturating your spirit with thoughts of insignificance concerning what God is doing in the earth today because whether you realize it or not you have a part to play in all of this. Paul tells us, “For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].” (Rom. 8:19 AMP) There are multitudes of people waiting for you to manifest your destiny because their very lives depend on it. The glory of God revealed through you will make all the difference in the lives of all the suicidal, abused, rejected, and oppressed people in our world. This is not a job for the spiritual superstars of our day, but for the believer who knows who they are and has a heart to just minister faith, hope and love regardless of whether or not they become a household name.
If you are a fame chaser then you will never reflect the glory of God. Paul teaches, “We have this treasure from God, but we are like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that the great power is from God, not from us.” (2 Cor. 4:7 NCV) We are carriers of His glory and not our own because even Jesus told us, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 ESV) Today, abide in Christ and bear much fruit to the glory of God.
“Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.”-Ephesians 2:6(MSG)
Do you realize that you have been chosen to live with a view from the top? Sometimes this seems a little unrealistic when we consider the difficulties that we face in life, but Romans 5:17 tells us that we are supposed to “reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ(NKJV).” We have gotten used to living under all sorts of pressures which has affected our health, stolen our joy and has caused us to create a false doctrine of suffering that will only end when one of two things happen either Jesus comes back to rapture the church or we die and end in up heaven, but I think that it is time for God’s people to develop some bold faith and turn the tide of every battle that we are facing in our favor.
First, we must come to understand that “he picked us.” Too many have allowed the rejection that they have experienced in life and may still be experiencing to blind them to the simple fact that God has chosen to accept you because he simply loves you. Once we understand that we are chosen then comes the understanding that spiritually we are seated in heaven “with Jesus” not below him or behind him, but “with Jesus.” Everything about your life in Christ is meant to go up from the point that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so any thoughts of inferiority or unworthiness are not the result of humilty, but ignorance. The truth of God’s word tells me that I am a “joint-heir with Jesus Christ(see Romans 8:17).” As an heir I believe that it’s time for me to access my inheritance and live the high life in Christ.
Today, decide that it’s time for you to live the life that you were destined for where you overcome no matter how bleak the situation may look. Forbid depression from having any place in your life and permit the joy of the Lord to shine on you daily. Even if the sun is not high in the sky the Son is always up so happy days are still here again!
“Having our eyes fixed on Jesus, the guide and end of our faith, who went through the pains of the cross, not caring for the shame, because of the joy which was before him, and who has now taken his place at the right hand of God’s seat of power.”-Hebrews 12:2(BBE)
What motivates you? The New Oxford Dictionary defines motivation as the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. In life if you want to do anything meaningful or significant then you need to make sure that you have the right motivation or else you will both start projects and fail to see them through to completion. Also people without proper motivation fail to see the big picture and see why it is necessary for the rest of humanity that they succeed.
Our motivation can come through God-given dreams such was the case in Joseph’s life (see Genesis 37:5-11, 45:5-11). The prophetic message revealed in Joseph’s dreams motivated him to endure the hardships that he encountered so that his family could experience deliverance in a time of worldwide famine. Jesus’ clear sense of purpose and destiny motivated him to embrace his future as mankind’s savior (see Matthew 26:39; Luke 2:49, 19:10; John 8:16-29, 9:4).
Today, realize that true motivation can come from God alone. God doesn’t want us to seek self-gratification that why in Philippians 2:3 Paul says, “When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves (NCV).” So again I ask what motivates you? Spend time with God and let him speak to you and motivate you to do something great for His glory.
Question for further thought:
1. What tasks have you not failed at, but failed to complete because you lost your motivation?
